Iranian security forces arrest 18-year-old Mahan Seifi in Dareh Shahr

Mahan Seifi, an 18-year-old Kurdish man from Dareh Shahr in Ilam Province, was arrested by Iranian security forces and taken to an undisclosed location.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Seifi was arrested on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

Hengaw has learned that in recent days, Seifi had posted messages on his social media accounts protesting rising prices and inflation.

The reasons for Seifi's arrest, the identity of the arresting agency, any charges against him, and his whereabouts remain unknown. His family's efforts to obtain information about his fate have so far been unsuccessful.
