Shwaneh Divazi arrested by Intelligence Department in Miandoab

Intelligence Department forces arrested Shwaneh Divazi, a 48-year-old Kurdish man from Miandoab (Miandoaw), during a nighttime raid on his home in the village of Sarchenar and transferred him to an undisclosed location.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Intelligence Department forces raided Divazi’s family home at around 3:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2026, and arrested him without presenting a warrant.

Sources told Hengaw that the forces created an atmosphere of intimidation during the raid and searched the home. Divazi is married and a father of three.

The reasons for his arrest, the charges against him, and his current whereabouts remain unknown. His family’s efforts to obtain information about his situation have so far been unsuccessful.
