3 Kurdish citizens executed in Urmia Central Prison

Hengaw: The death sentence of three Kurdish citizens who were transferred to solitary confinement in Urmia Central Prison yesterday was carried out in this prison.

According to a report received by Hengaw Human Rights Organization, on the morning of Monday, August 2, 2021, the death sentences of three Kurdish citizens, Hamzeh Rezaei from Salmas, Sepehr Abbasnejad, and Eskandar Zare from Urmia, were carried out in Urmia Central Prison.

The three citizens were arrested on drug-related charges and sentenced to death by the judiciary.

According to statistics recorded at the Statistics and Documentation Center of Hengaw Human Rights Organization, over the past four months, at least 20 Kurdish prisoners have been executed in Iranian prisons.
