Hengaw: At least 51 Kurdish citizens were arrested by the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran

Hengaw: At least 51 Kurdish citizens were arrested by the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran last month on charges of political, civil and religious activities.

According to statistics recorded at the Statistics and Documentation Center of  Hengaw Human Rights Organization, during July 2021, at least 51 Kurdish citizens were arrested by the Iranian government's security services on charges of political, civil and religious activities.

According to the report, 35 citizens were detained by security forces on charges of political activity and cooperation with Kurdish parties, 2 on charges of religious activity, and 14 citizens on charges of participating in protests in Kermanshah over the electricity and water shortages.

Most of the detained citizens were registered with 18 cases in West Azerbaijan (Urmia). 16 cases in Kurdistan (Sanandaj), and 17 cases  in Kermanshah.

And Four female activists, a teenager under the age of 18 and two students were arrested last month. Five people were also arrested and transferred to prison to serve their sentences.
