Amir Khaledian sentenced to prison and exile over January protests

The Iranian judiciary has sentenced Amir Khaledian, a 35-year-old Kurdish man from Qorveh who was arrested during the January 2026 protests, to a total of five years and six months in prison and two years of exile in Minab.
Based on information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Branch 1 of the Qorveh Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Mohammad Hossein Beigdelou, sentenced Khaledian to four years and six months in prison.
In a separate case, the Qorveh Criminal Court, presided over by Judge Hadi Khani, sentenced him to an additional one year in prison and two years of exile in Minab, Hormozgan Province.
Khaledian was arrested during the January 2026 protests and was subjected to physical assault during his arrest.
He had previously been arrested by security forces during the Woman, Life, Freedom (Jin, Jiyan, Azadi) movement and subjected to interrogation and torture.
