Hengaw: A girl from Kamyaran and resident of Sanandaj was sentenced to prison by the judical system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to a report received by ‌‌‌Hengaw Human Rights Organization, a girl from Kamyaran and resident of Sanandaj, identified as Azhin Rahmani, 20, was recently sentenced to one year in prison by branch 102 of the Baneh Criminal Court, headed by judge Ali Mohammad Jafari.

According to an informed source, the sentence was issued on charges of "collaborating with the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran" and "crossing the border illegally."

It is worth mentioning that the sentence was approved by branch 9 of the Court of Appeals of the province and was suspended for one year.

Azhin Rahmani has been a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran for eight months since February 2021 and was arrested in September 2021 after leaving the party and returning to Iran at the Baneh border, where she was later released on bail.
