Hengaw: After releasing news about the arrest of a Kurdish female athlete from Sanandaj by the Hengaw, she was released by representatives of the Kubo World Federation (KWF) in Iran and the Kurdistan Region.

On Sunday, 24 January, Arezou Mirki, a Kurdish female boxer, who was arrested by Iranian security forces two weeks ago, on charges of raising the Kurdistan flag after defeating Iran's opponent in the city of Soren, Kurdistan Region, she was released by representatives of the Kubo World Federation (KWF) in Iran and the Kurdistan Region.

Arezou Mirki, 20, was arrested by Iranian security forces earlier this month after she returned to her hometown, Sanandaj, in Kurdistan of Iran.

However, Iranian intelligence service has confiscated her personal mobile phone and banned her from traveling to the Kurdistan Region again.
The release came after mounting pressure by Kurdistan Region and world kickboxing networks.
