Arab man Esmail Bavi held incommunicado in Ahvaz weeks after arrest

Esmail Bavi, a 20-year-old Arab man from Ahvaz, has been held incommunicado for three weeks following his arrest by Iranian security forces.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Iranian security forces raided the family home of Esmail Bavi in the village of Vahib (Eslamabad-e Do), located on the Ahvaz–Abadan road, and arrested him in early March 2026.

Three weeks after his arrest, no information is available regarding his fate or place of detention.

Informed sources told Hengaw that the family’s repeated efforts to obtain information about his situation have been unsuccessful, and security institutions have refused to provide clear answers.
