Iranian authorities arrest student Sima Chambari in Nishapur, whereabouts unknown

Sima Chambari, a university student from Nishapur, was arrested by Iranian government forces and her fate remains unknown.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, government forces raided Chambari’s family home in Nishapur and arrested her on Tuesday, March 11, 2026.
Informed sources stated that more than ten government agents entered the student’s home without presenting a warrant and carried out the arrest using violence.
Sima Chambari is a 2024 undergraduate chemistry student at the University of Guilan in Rasht and a resident of Nishapur.
Authorities have not disclosed the reasons for her arrest, the charges against her, or the institution responsible for her detention. Her family’s efforts to obtain information about her fate and place of detention have so far been unsuccessful.
