Hengaw: A Kurdish refugee girl from Kermanshah drowned in Greek waters while going to Europe.

According to a report received by  Hengaw Human Rights Organization, a young girl from Kermanshah, identified as "Monira Heydari", drowned in the sinking of a boat carrying asylum seekers near the Greek island of Crete.

According to the same source, Monira Heydari was originally from Zardoei village in Paveh city and a resident of Kermanshah.

On Thursday, July 22, 2021, a boat carrying asylum seekers with 45 people on board, most of them from cities in the Kurdistan region, sank off the Greek island of Crete, rescuing about 37 people, and the fate of several others is uncertain.
