Hengaw: At the same time as several other cities, people in various Kurdish cities also took to the streets in protest of rising gas prices. These protests led to clashes with the intervention of the security forces.

According to the Hengaw Human Rights Organization, from the early hours of Saturday, November 6, people in fourteen Kurdish cities in West Azerbaijan, Kurdistan, Kermanshah and Ilam provinces took to the streets to protest against the rise in gasoline prices by 200%.

According to reports released by Hengaw, today, the cities of Ilam, Kermanshah, Sar-pole-Zahab, Islamabad West, Gilan West, Javanrood, Kamyaran, Sanandaj, Marivan, Saqez, Miandoab, Bukan, Orumiyeh and Salmas have taken to the streets.

Security forces opened fire on protesters in the cities of Sanandaj and Kermanshah. Hengaw sources said at least two civilians were wounded in the shootings in Sanandaj and five in Kermanshah. Unconfirmed reports indicate one of the protesters was killed outside the door of the Sanandaj Private university.

In Sanandaj, at least ten security forces were wounded and taken to Basat Hospital.

In Sanandaj and Kermanshah, more than Ten citizens have been arrested and their identity has not been verified for Hengaw.
