Hengaw: Mohammad Nazari, a Kurdish political prisoner who has spent more than 23 years in prison, has been denied even a day leave.
Mohammad was arrested by the Aboozar security forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Bokan, in the Urmia Province on May 30, 1994.
He has spent the past 23 years in Urmia Prison and the Prison of Rajai Shahr in Karaj.
This political prisoner had been sentenced to death by the Iranian Judiciary, but the sentence was changed to life imprisonment.
Mohammad Nazari has stated that this is the Intelligence Service of Urmia that prevents him to leave. Last year, he wrote a letter to the Iranian Judiciary and said “unfortunately the Judiciary has been misused by the Intelligence Agents”.
“It seems that after almost 23 years, the Intelligence Ministry’s feelings of hate and revenge still continue so that they prevent my letter to send to the Judiciary and prevent me from leave or transfer to a prison in my own city.
This is unfortunate that the Iran’s Judiciary is misused by an agent and does not have any power; this is shameful for the Judiciary authorities.
Although I must to be released by your own laws, you prevent justice only because of personal intervention.”
