Council Member Killed while Cross-Border Working

Hengaw: A member of the village council in Qotur near Khoy, West Azerbaijan Province, was shot dead by Iranian border guards while he was cross-border working.

According to the report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Monday, November 2, 2020, a member of the village council named Syawash Kouresani was shot dead by Iranian border guards while he was cross-border working (Kolbar) in Rawian, Qotur district, near Khoy. 

An informed source told Hengaw that Syawash Kouresani had to work as a Kolbar (cross-border workers) to make a living.

Based on the registered statistics of Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, during the past month at least 15 Kurdish Kolbars and tradesmen have been killed or injured.
