Kurdish citizen from Urmia sentenced to lifetime imprisonment in Turkey for 7 times — a report

Hengaw : A Kurdish citizen from Urmia arrested in Turkey has been sentenced to lifetime  imprisonment for 7 times by the Turkish judiciary.

According to a report received by Hengaw Human Rights Organization, a 22-year-old Kurdish citizen from Urmia, identified as Azad Sadeghifar, was arrested by Turkish security forces three years ago and is currently being held in Batman Central Prison in Turkey’s Kurdistan

According to the report, Azad Sadeghifar joined the Kurdistan Workers' Party( PKK)  at the age of 16 and surrendered to the Turkish security forces at the age of 19 after leaving the party.

This Kurdish citizen was sentenced to lifetime imprisonment for 7 times  by a Turkish court on charges of overthrowing the government through membership in the Kurdistan Workers' Party ( PKK) and has been detained in Batman Central Prison in Turkey since his arrest.

It is worth mentioning that Azad Sadeghifar has not received any consular support from the Iranian government or humanitarian support from the International Committee of the Red Cross during the last three years and has not been able to meet with his family during this period and has only talked to his family by phone.
