Kurdish citizen from Sanandaj arrested for participating in Newroz celebrations

Hengaw: Following the wave of arrests of Kurdish citizens, a citizen from Sanandaj has been arrested by the Iranian security agencies for participating Newroz celebrations.

According to a report received by Hengaw Human Rights Organization, on Thursday, April 1, 2021, Fardin Moloudi, a citizen of Sanandaj , was arrested by Iranian security forces and is currently being held in the city's central prison.

According to Hengaw’s sources, Fardin Moloudi has been arrested for participating in the Newroz celebrations in Sanandaj.

Fardin Moloudi has been arrested and sentenced to prison several times by Iranian security forces in recent years.

In the past three weeks, at least 16 Kurdish citizens have been arrested  by Iranian security forces in the cities of Sanandaj, Marivan, Baneh and Oshnaviyeh for participating in  Newroz celebrations.
