2 Kurdish citizens sentenced to 13 years in prison for participating in November 2019 protests in Kermanshah

Hengaw : 2 Kurdish  citizens have been  sentenced to a total of 13 years in prison by the Iranian judiciary for participating in the November 2019 protests in Kermanshah.

According to a report received by  Hengaw Human Rights Organization, in recent days, 2 Kurdish citizens, Jalal Namdari from Kermanshah and Saeed Khaledi from Paveh, have been tried and sentenced to prison by the  First Branch of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court in Kermanshah for participating in the November 2019 protests in .

According to the verdict, Jalal Namdari was sentenced to five years in prison for "acting against national security" through cooperation with the Mojahedin Khalq Organization of Iran, and for "gathering and colluding to commit a crime" by participating in and encouraging people to participate in the November 2019 protests.  He has been sentenced to 3 years imprisonment, which according to the law of aggregation of severe sentences, the objective punishment is 5 years imprisonment.

Also, Saeed Khaledi was sentenced to 4 years in prison for "acting against national security" through cooperation with opposition groups, and to one year in prison for "propaganda against the state ", of which 4 years is applicable.

Jalal Namdari and Saeed Khaledi from Satyari village of Paveh were arrested by the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps intelligence forces in late December 2020 and early January 2021.

Saeed Khaledi was temporarily released on bail pending the trial session , and Jalal Namdari is currently being held in DizelAbad  Prison in Kermanshah.

Earlier, in a report, Hengaw reported the issuance of imprisonment and flogging for 16 Kurdish citizens that practiced in November 2019 protests in Iranian Kurdistan.
