Femicide in Saqqez: Young women brutally murdered by by her fiancé

Hengaw: The body of a young woman from Saqqez was discovered on the Saqez-Sanandaj road,  who had been brutally  murdered and set on fire by her fiancé.

According to a report received by Hengaw Human Rights Organization, on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, the burnt body of a young woman from Saqez, identified as "Negin (Galaleh) Sheikhi", 26 years old, on the Sanandaj-Saqez road in a place called "  Chapan Sofla ”was discovered by the police.

According to Hengaw sources, Negin Sheikhi, who had a bachelor's degree in law and worked in a law firm, was  traveling with her fiancé, Kiomars Zarghami, who is also her cousin, two weeks ago.  In the past few days, Negin's fiancé had called his sister that I had killed Negin.

It’s reported that He also told his family that he had hidden Negin's body on the Sanandaj-Saqez road. A group of people and police agenys had been searching the area for a few days to find Negin's body until they discovered it .

The killer also has been arrested in city of Astara in Northern Iran.

An informed source told Hangao that Kiomers had set fire to Galal's body with 5 liters of gasoline and then hid it.

In the past few days, at least five women in the cities of Saqqez, Kermanshah, Ilam and Darrehshahr have been killed by their relatives, four of whom were killed by their husbands and fiancés.
