Hengaw – Tuesdaz, July 1, 2025
Zhila Tashakori and Dler Salimi, a young Kurdish couple from Saqez, were arrested by security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran. While Tashakori has been transferred to Sanandaj Central Prison, the whereabouts and condition of her husband, Dler Salimi, remain unclear.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Salimi was arrested by security forces on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. Four days later, his wife, Tashakori, was also detained and subsequently transferred to Sanandaj Prison.
A source close to the Salimi family told Hengaw that two weeks earlier, on a Tuesday, Salimi was detained by agents of the Intelligence Department while traveling on the Saveh Road. After four days without any information about his whereabouts, intelligence forces raided the family’s home in Saqez, confiscating electronic devices, including mobile phones and a computer.
The source added that on Saturday, June 21, 2025 —the same day the home was searched and four days after Salimi’s arrest—his wife Tashakori was summoned to the Intelligence Department and subsequently arrested.
Two weeks after his detention, Salimi continues to be denied his basic rights, including access to legal counsel and communication with his family. His place of detention and current condition remain undisclosed. Tashakori was able to inform her family of her transfer to Sanandaj Prison in a brief phone call, but no further contact has been permitted.
