So'da Khadirzadeh, a Kurdish political prisoner from Piranshahr, was transferred to the hospital on Monday, June 20, 2022, after eight months in prison at Urmia Central Prison; she was transferred to the hospital just a few hours before the cesarean section and returned to the women's ward of Urmia Central Prison in the evening without completing her treatment. She is held in a very poor condition.

According to the report, even the judicial authorities agreed to complete the treatment and the recovery process and to stabilize the health condition of the infant in the hospital, but the security agencies returned Ms. Khadirzadeh to prison without informing her family and lawyer.

Informed sources told Hengaw that So'da Khadirzadeh was deprived of access to family visits during the 10 hours she was in hospital and spoke to her family only once over the phone.

An informed source in Urmia Prison told Hengaw in this regard: "So'da was tied to the bed by prison officials during the 10 hours in the hospital. After repeated objections by hospital staff, they have been forced to untie handcuffs."

So'da Khadirzadeh had gone on a hunger strike from Tuesday, April 26, to Saturday, May 7, in protest of her 7 months of indecision in the women's ward of Urmia Central Prison. She ended her strike after 11 days based on the favorable promise of prison officials that she would be transferred to medical centers or a temporary release on bail.

Recently, Hengaw released an audio recording of the political prisoner, in which So'da Khadirzadeh said: "I have been held hostage in prison and I have been threatened with a forced confession."
