A citizen from Mahabad identified as Yunes Tanhayi, 29, who was recently arrested and severely tortured by the Intelligence forces of this city, was transferred to the solitary confinement of Mahabad Central Prison on Thursday, September 1, 2022.
According to the report received by Hengaw Human Rights Organization, Yunes Tanhayi was arrested on Sunday, August 14, by the Mahabad Intelligence forces, and after 18 days of torture, he was taken to the solitary confinement of the Mahabad prison.
According to one of the relatives of Tanhayi's family, the citizen was severely tortured physically and mentally by the security forces during the 18 days he was in the detention center of the Intelligence Office.
Hengaw has been informed that Yunes Tanhayi is from the village of Hamzeh Abad of Mahabad, and he was accused by the security agencies of cooperating with one of the opposition Kurdish parties of the government.
