Saman Qadirpour, 37, an Oshnovieh resident who was detained during the recent uprisings in Tehran, died as a result of the security forces' torture.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization of Human Rights, Saman Qadirpour was captured during the uprisings in Tehran and died on Saturday, October 29, 2022, as a result of brutal torture by the Iranian regime forces.

An informed source told Hengaw that the security forces informed the Qadirpour family by a phone call on Monday that they needed to go to Tehran to identify their son, and Saman's uncle identified his body after visiting the Behesht Zahra morgue.

This source, who did not want to be named for security reasons, stated: "The security agencies told Saman's uncle that he died of cardiac failure, but his uncle stressed that Saman's face was fully scarred and wounded due to torture."

According to the source, the Iranian authorities told Qadirpour’s family that the burial ceremony of Saman should be held with the coordination of the Intelligence Department in Oshnaviyeh and no one, not even his mother, has the right to see his body.

Saman Qadirpour’s body was handed over to his family tonight, and he is going to be buried in his hometown tomorrow.
