Rozhin Yousefzadeh, a Kurdish activist from Mahabad, sentenced to 15 years in prison in Tehran

Rozhin Yousefzadeh (Marzieh), while in the third month of her detention, was sentenced to 15 years in prison by the Iranian judiciary in Tehran.

According to the report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, 26-year-old Rozhin Yousefzadeh from Mahabad, who was arrested by Iranian government forces in Tehran on Saturday, September 17, 2022, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison by the Iranian judiciary.

Recently, it has been determined that a meeting was held on Tuesday, October 15, in Branch 29 of the Islamic Revolutionary Court in Tehran, headed by Judge Mazloumi, and the sentence of 15 years of imprisonment was announced to Rozhin Yousefzadeh on the same day.

It should be noted that Rozhin Yousefzadeh has been deprived of the right to access a lawyer and to visit her family.

According to a source, Rozhin (Marzieh) Yousefzadeh was arrested by the Iranian government forces during the protests in Tehran while holding a placard and is currently imprisoned in Qarchak Varamin prison.
