Two Kurdish men sentenced to five years in prison each in Qasr-e Shirin

Abolfazl Rostami and Erfan Moradi Dangi, two Kurdish men from Qasr-e Shirin in Kermanshah province, have each been sentenced to five years in prison by Branch 1 of the city’s Revolutionary Court. They were arrested in connection with the January 2026 protests

According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Rostami and Moradi Dangi were each sentenced to five years in prison on the charge of “assembly and collusion to commit crimes against internal and external security.” The verdicts have been formally communicated to them.

Their trial was held in August 2026 before Branch 1 of the Qasr-e Shirin Revolutionary Court.

The two men were arrested by Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Intelligence forces in Qasr-e Shirin on May 28, 2026, in connection with the January protests.

After several weeks in detention and interrogation, during which they were subjected to severe physical and psychological torture, Rostami and Moradi Dangi were temporarily released on bail pending the completion of judicial proceedings.
