The lack of information about the two detainees' conditions, Ramyar Varmazyar, a paramedic from Diwandarreh, and Shahram Abdulvand, a boxing coach from this city, has raised serious concerns about their fate in government detention centers.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, 31-year-old paramedic Ramyar Varmazyar was arrested by Iranian government authorities in Diwandarreh in late November. This citizen was beaten before being taken into custody and held in the Sanandaj Intelligence Department detention center.
Shahram Abdulvand, a well-known boxing coach and part of the Diwandarreh sports community, was also detained around the beginning of December, and as of this time, there is no information on his whereabouts.
The condition of detainees and citizens abducted by Iranian security forces during the past three months, including the deaths of at least 10 people as a result of torture, has raised serious concerns about the repression occurring in Kurdistan at the moment.
