Farzaneh Saidi, a Kurdish student from Ilam who was released from detention two months ago, was sentenced to a total of four years in prison by the branches of the Criminal Court and the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court.
According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Farzaneh Saidi, during two separate cases in the first branch of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court and the branch of the Criminal Court in Ilam, was charged with "gathering and collusion against internal and external security" and "disturbing public order." She was sentenced to four years of penal servitude, a two-year ban on leaving the country, and the revocation of her passport.
According to an informed source, at the appeal stage, two years of Ms. Saidi's four-year imprisonment were changed to suspended imprisonment, another two years to a fine of 25 million tomans (650 USD), and two years to a ban on leaving the country and revocation of her passport.
Farzaneh Saidi was arrested in her home on Saturday, October 15, 2022, and after a month of detention and questioning, she was temporarily released on November 22 by posting bail of 3 billion tomans (approximately 75,000 USD).
