Benyamin Rahimpour, from Sanandaj, was arrested in the court in this city to serve his 6-month prison sentence.
According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Saturday, January 28, 2023, Benyamin Rahimpour was summoned to the first branch of the Islamic Revolutionary Court in Sanandaj, arrested for serving the sentence, and subsequently transferred to the central prison of this city.
Benyamin Rahimpour was previously sentenced to 18 months of suspended imprisonment and 6 months of penal servitude by the first branch of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court in Sanandaj, headed by Judge "Saeidi."
According to informed sources, this verdict was issued to Mr. Rahimpour for the charge of "collaborating with Kurdish opposition parties against the government."
Benyamin Rahimpour, a Kurdish citizen of Sanandaj, is married and the father of two young children. During the proceedings of his case, he was denied the right to access a lawyer.
