The continuation of organized chemical attacks on schools has taken on an increasing trend, and in one working day, at least 27 schools were attacked in the cities of Karaj, Isfahan, Tabriz, Shahin Shahr, Bandar Ganaveh, Kamiyaran, Shahriar, Oshnavieh, Urmia, Borujerd, Marivan, Parsabad, Moghan, and Kermanshah (Kermashan).
According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, Manouchehr Ansari, Al Yasin, Tolo, Masoud Bagheri, and Amir Kabir's primary schools in Shahin Shahr, Isfahan, were targeted by chemical attacks.
In Oshnavieh, chemical attacks were carried out in six schools: Khadijah Kobra, Farzangan, Malik al-Nisa, Sharaf, 15 Khordad, and Sayadifar, which resulted in the poisoning of a number of students.
At the same time, three girls' schools named Zainab, Atrat, and Hijab were chemically attacked in Ganaveh, the capital of Bushehr Province.
Also, a chemical attack was reported in Maryam and Danesh Pazohan girls' schools and Shima Moradi primary school in Kermanshah, during which at least 60 students were poisoned by inhaling poisonous gases; two of them are in critical condition.
These attacks were also carried out in two primary schools, Fahmidah and Fatemeh Al-Zahra Girls' School in Kamiyaran, and caused symptoms of poisoning in 12 students who were taken to Sina Hospital in Kamiyaran for medical treatment.
Kamal Dehghani Girls' School in Razi Karaj, Ba'ath School in Shahryar, Tehran, Ingleb School in Tabriz, Shayan Girls' School in Isfahan, Ahmadiyeh Girls' School in Borujerd, Valiasr High School in Urmia, schools in Parsabad in Ardabil Province, and 22 Bahman School in Marivan were some of the other schools where chemical attacks took place.
Informed sources in Marivan told Hengaw that the principal of the 22 Bahman school in this city prevented the students from leaving the school after the chemical attack and threatened to expel them from the school.
According to the published videos and images, the government forces in some schools in Shahin Shahr, Urmia, and Parsabad blocked the exit doors of the school to the students. In some cases, the presence of parents of students was accompanied by repression by government forces.
Also, rescue groups appeared in front of schools without oxygen capsules and sometimes with rescue capsules empty of oxygen, which led to protests by students and parents.
In this connection, on April 10, 2023, the Kurdistan Teachers' Union (Saqqez and Ziviyeh) issued a statement, calling the poisoning of students systematic and organized. In the continuation of this statement, it is stated that the perpetrators have the support of the authorities.
Hengaw has been informed that on Tuesday, April 11, the management of Saqqez schools contacted the parents of the students and requested that they have to attend the classrooms for the following days. This is despite the fact that the students in Saqqez have boycotted the classrooms for the past two days.
