Mahdi Erfani, an athlete and civil activist, was abducted by Iranian authorities in Qorveh

Iranian government forces have abducted a wrestler and civil activist named Mehdi Erfani from Qorveh.

According to reports received by the Hengaw organization for human rights, the incident took place on the morning of Saturday, March 15, 2023, during a raid on Irfani's family home in Qorveh city.

An informed source claims that 10 government forces entered the house and created an atmosphere of intimidation before taking Mahdi into custody.

 
Personal belongings such as books, computers, mobile phones, and notes were confiscated after an extensive search of the house. The government has yet to release any information regarding the charges brought against Erfani or his current whereabouts.
