Sakineh Parwaneh, a former Kurdish political prisoner from Quchan who was recently re-arrested, has been transferred to Wakilabad prison in Mashhad.

According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, Sakineh Parwaneh, a former Kurdish political prisoner, was summoned and detained for unknown reasons by the Islamic Revolutionary Court in Mashhad and was transferred to Ward 5 of Mashhad Prison.

Sakineh Parwaneh was initially detained in Tehran on February 25, 2023, and was released after four days.

It’s been four years since the IRGC seized all of Sakineh’s legal documents, and despite her release, her documents have not been returned, causing her to face difficulties and inabilities in the most basic daily activities, such as renting a house, working, buying a mobile phone SIM card, etc.

Sakineh Parwaneh was deported over to the Islamic Republic's authorities by the Turkish police via the Maku border on February 7, 2020, and was subsequently taken into custody by the Iranian secret services department and transferred to Evin prison Ward 209 in Tehran.

On Monday, May 17, 2021, she was sentenced to five years in prison and a two-year ban on membership in political groups and parties without the minimum rights of a defendant during a trial at Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court in Tehran.

During years of detention, she was intermittently transferred to intelligence detention centers in Maku, Tehran, Evin Prison, Qarchak Women's Prison, Ramin Prison in Ahvaz, and Goochan Prison. She has gone on hunger strikes several times to protest the injustice and inhumane conditions she has faced.
