Ayub Jawanpour, a civil activist from Saqqez has been moved from Sanandaj (Sine) intelligence detention center to Central prison in Saqqez after 35 days of torture and interrogation in detention. He was injured during the “Jin, Jian, Azadi” movement and spend sometimes in custody as well.
 

According to reports obtained by the Hengaw organization for human rights, Ayub Jawanpour, a civil activist from Saqqez was transferred to Saqqez central prison on Saturday, July 15th, 2023, after being held captive in Sanandaj intelligence detention for 35 days. 
 

An eye witness revealed that Ayub Jawanpour was transferred to central prison in Saqqez in a critical physical and psychological condition with visible trace of torture on his body.
 

Hengaw in an earlier report had raised concerns regarding the lack of information of Mr. Jawanpour conditions to his family and deprivation of communication and visitation during his detention. 
 

It is important to note that Mr. Jawanpour was arrested at his residence on Monday, June 10th, 2023, by intelligence agency and subsequently relocated to intelligence detention center in Sanandaj. 
 

Ayub Jawanpour was one of the many detainees arrested during the “Jin, Jian, Azadi” movement in Saqqez in 2022 as well as prior conviction in 2018 for his influential civil activism.
