Majid Khademi, a Kurdish activist living in Behbahan, was arrested after being summoned and referred to the Iranian Judiciary, and was taken to prison to serve his sentence. He was previously sentenced to six years and three months in prison, which was finally reduced to 1/8 of the entire sentence by submitting to the verdict.
According to the report received by the Hengaw Organizations for Human Rights, recently, Majid Khademi, a Kurdish activist living in Behbahan, Khuzestan province, was summoned to the execution branch of the General and the Iranian Islamic Revolution Prosecutor's Office in this city, and after being arrested, he was sentenced to five years, five months, and 18 days in prison, and following that, he was transferred to Behbahan prison.
It should be noted that Majid Khademi was previously sentenced to six years and three months in prison by the Iranian Islamic Revolution Court in Mahshahr headed by Judge Mehran Mehman Nawaz on the charge of "assemblage and collusion to act against national security", one year and four months for the charge of "propaganda against the regime" and also to two years and six months of imprisonment for the charge of "membership in opposition groups".
Majid Khademi was arrested by IRGC intelligence forces on January 18, 2020, and after spending a month in the Behbahan Intelligence Department detention center, he was transferred to the prison in this city.
Finally, on June 15, 2021, he was temporarily released by posting bail of 2.5 billion tomans until the end of the proceedings.
