Teenage boy detained and tortured in the Intelligence Detention Center in Qorveh

Amiar Fathollahi, a 16-year-old teenager, was deceitfully summoned to the department of education in Qorveh, detained, and subjected to torture after being transferred to the detention center of the local intelligence agency in Qorveh.

According to reports received by the Hengaw organization for Human Rights, on the morning of Sunday, October 15th, 2023, Amiar Fathollahi, a student from Qorveh, was called in to the Qorveh Department of Education for an alleged "educational evaluation" following a phone call from a staff member named Pedram Hassani. He was detained and subjected to torture by the personnel of the intelligence agency before being transferred to the detention center.

According to an informed source, this teenager, who was detained from approximately 9 a.m. to nearly 3 p.m. at the Intelligence detention center in Qorveh, was severely tortured.

Hengaw has been informed that due to the torture at the Intelligence detention center, Amiar Fathollahi has suffered severe physical injuries to his kidneys and lower back due to the torture inflicted on him to extract forced confessions that he was coerced and influenced by his uncle, Aref Nadari, a political activist residing abroad, to commit what they have labeled as "terrorist activities."

After a few hours of detention and torture, this teenager was released with severe physical and psychological conditions, had his mobile phone confiscated, and was sent back to his family.
