Mehsa Basir Tawana, the sister of Mehran Basir Tawana, a young man killed during the  Jin, Jiyan, Azadi movement, was arrested by the Iranian security forces in Gilan province on the eve of the anniversary of her brother's death.
 
According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Sunday, November 12, 2023, Mehsa Basir Tawana, from Fuman and a member of the plaintiff's family, was arrested by the Iranian Intelligence forces in this city.
 
According to an informed source, Mehsa Basir Tawana, the mother of two children, was taken to the detention center of this security institution in Rasht after being arrested by the agents of the Ministry of Intelligence.

This member of the plaintiff's family was once again detained by the agents of the Ministry of Intelligence on Thursday, August 17, 2023, while accompanying his sick mother in the hospital.
 
Mehran Basir Tawana, a 29-year-old young man from Fuman city, a district of Gilan province, was killed on November 16, 2023, during nationwide protests in the city of Some’ Sara by direct fire from the Iranian government forces in his chest.
