Mehrab Kosha, a 27-year-old Kurdish resident from the city of Karzan in the Ilam province, has been apprehended after sustaining gunshot wounds inflicted by the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The severity of his injuries places his life in imminent danger.
According to reports obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Saturday, November 11, 2023, Mehrab Kosha, hailing from Karzan, was shot by agents of the Intelligence Department on a road leading to the city of Karazan in the Ilam province.
An informed source reveals that despite sustaining serious injuries to his leg, Mehrab Kosha was detained by the intelligence department and subsequently taken to an undisclosed location.
The ongoing monitoring of Mehrab Kosha's condition post-injury and arrest has, as of the time of reporting, failed to yield any results. At present, there is no available information regarding his health status or the conditions of his confinement.
It is worth noting that Mehrab Kosha had previously been summoned to the intelligence office in Karzan and faced threats at least once during the Women, Life, Freedom (Jin, Jiyan, Azadi) movement.
