At least five journalists and environmental activists have been arrested by the Iranian security forces in the city of Rasht and taken to an unknown location. The identities of these women, Rozita Rajaei, Anahita Hejazi, Nina Golestani, Nasim Tawafzadeh, and Helaleh Nateqeh, have been confirmed.

According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights Organization, on Saturday, November 11, 2023, Rozita Rajaei, a writer, and Anahita Hejazi, director of Anna's safe house for Animals, were arrested in Rasht.

At the same time, Nasim Tawafzadeh, the responsible director of "Moror" news site and the director of the Sabzkaran Balan Environmental Institute, and Helaleh Nateqeh, the reporter of the environment of Moror news station and a member of the Sabzkaran Balan Environmental Institute, were also arrested.

Nina Golestani, a writer, is also one of those arrested on Saturday. Javad Sajjadirad, the husband of Nina Golestani, wrote in an Instagram post: On Saturday, the intelligence agents arrested Nina on the way back home and after searching the house, they took away their mobile phones and laptops.

Until the time of writing this news, there is no precise information about the reasons for the arrest and the charges attributed to these women activists.
