Esrin Mohammadi, the sister of the late Shahriar Mohammadi, a victim of the Women, Life, Freedom (Jin, Jiyan, Azadi) movement, was apprehended by the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Bukan.
According to reports obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on the evening of Wednesday, November 15, 2023, Esrin Mohammadi was taken into custody a few days before her brother's death anniversary.
It is noteworthy that government security forces conducted a raid on her residence.
The arrest occurred three days prior to the death anniversary of Shahriar Mohammadi, a 29-year-old resident of Bukan, who lost his life on Friday, November 18, 2022, due to gunfire from government armed forces during the Bukan protests.
