Undoubtedly, November 2019 marked one of the most extensive struggles of the Iranian people against the Islamic Republic. November solidified the image of nationwide protests against the Islamic Republic. In November, the articulation of the radical position that "even the price of gasoline in Iran is an issue related to dictatorship" was pronounced.

In November 2019, the Islamic Republic, utilizing shock doctrine, abruptly tripled the price of gasoline by appointing a three-member committee selected by Ali Khamenei. The people's reaction was so swift that the Islamic Republic quickly cut off the internet and began a horrific massacre in the darkness. The Neizar-Mashoor Massacre in Mahshahr is just one of these crimes.

In the ongoing November, as described by Mahboubeh Ramezani, the mother of the late Pejman Gholipour, the Islamic Republic laid bare parts of its repressive identity that it had long concealed in the shadows of power. In the blood-stained November, the general population of Iran perhaps faced, for the first time, the direct issue of child killings by the Islamic Republic. Pejman Gholipour is one of these names. Ali Ghazlavi, 12 years old, Ali Mosavi, 12 years old, Amirreza Abdollahi, 13 years old, Armin Ghaderi, 15 years old, Mohammad Dastankhah, 15 years old, Khaled Ghazlavi, 16 years old, Arash Khezadi, 16 years old, Mehdi Valipour, 16 years old, Mohammad Javad Abedi, 16 years old, Ahmad Mosavi Javeleh, 17 years old, Ahmad Albouali, 17 years old, Ali Dabiri, 17 years old, Alireza Nouri, 17 years old, Alireza Ostavan, 17 years old, Amirhossein Dadvand, 17 years old, Mohammad (Hamza) Beryehi, 17 years old, Hesam Barani Rad, 17 years old, Sasan Eidi Vandi, 17 years old, Mohammad Palani, 17 years old, Mohammadreza Ahmadi, 17 years old, Mohsen Mohammadpour, 17 years old, Mojahed Jamiee, 17 years old, and Pedram Jafari, 18 years old.

Other human rights sources also identify Nikita Esfandani, 14 years old, Javad Babaei, 15 years old, Reza Nisi, 16 years old, Hossein Rajabi, 17 years old, and Arian Rajabi, 17 years old, among the 23 names confirmed by Amnesty International as only a part of the children and adolescents killed in this incident. The severe repression in November 2019, not only did not keep people off the streets but also led to more active participation of the younger generation in the revolutionary life and stronger alliances with other social groups. November represents a glimpse of the crimes that, until that day, the Islamic Republic had perpetrated against women, political dissidents, youth, children, religious minorities, ethnic, sexual, and gender groups under oppression in various periods. November presented the true face of the Islamic Republic in the public sphere. Hengaw knows that many dimensions of the crimes in November are still hidden.

As long as we speak out about the systematic violation of human rights against various social groups, justice will continue. From November 2019 to the present, we have been collecting and documenting evidence related to the November crime. To this end, we call on all individuals and groups who have evidence and documents of the crimes of the Islamic Republic in November 2019 to continue sending their testimonies and narratives to Hengaw. We will carefully examine these documents and testimonies to shed light on other dimensions of this crime.

Hengaw,

November 16, 2023.
