Nasim Namazi, a Turkish prisoner from Urmia, was executed in the central prison of the city. The previous evening, the death sentences of three Kurdish prisoners connected to Nasim Namazi's case—Wafa Hanareh, Aram Omari Bardiani, and Rahman Parhazo—were carried out in Urmia Central Prison. These individuals had previously been sentenced to death on charges of "espionage for Israel."

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Friday, December 29, 2023, the death sentence of Nasim Namazi was executed in the central prison of Urmia. The day before, Nasim Namazi, along with three other prisoners sentenced to death in the same case, were moved to the solitary cell of Urmia Central Prison.

The death sentences of the other three defendants—Wafa Henare, Aram Omari Bardiani, and Rahman Parhazo—were executed at the central prison of Urmia at 23:00 on Thursday, December 27.

Iran's judiciary officially confirmed the execution of these four political prisoners through a published statement. The 39th branch of the Supreme Court had recently upheld the death sentences. Additionally, the death sentence of Mansour Rasouli was overturned and changed to life imprisonment.

Hengaw Organization for Human Rights strongly condemns the execution of these prisoners, considering these actions not only a clear violation of the right to life and human dignity but also a gross disregard of international laws and human rights principles.

Hengaw reported earlier, quoting informed sources, that security institutions informed the families that they would not receive the bodies of the three executed prisoners. Hengaw also announced the imminent execution of these prisoners upon learning about their transfer to solitary confinement, describing such action as "revengeful behavior" in response to the killing of Raza Mousavi, a high-ranking IRGC commander, by Israel in Syria.

Wafa Hanareh, Aram Omari Bardiani, and Rahman Parhazou were sentenced to death by the third branch of the Revolutionary Court of Urmia, headed by Judge Najafzadeh, on the charge of "participating in intelligence and espionage cooperation for the benefit of Israel" in February 2023.
