The intelligence forces detained five residents of Javanroud city in Kermanshah province. The arrested individuals are identified as Yasin Azami, Omid Khaki, Ayoub Badri, Peyman Vaisi, and Anoushirvan Houshangi.

According to a report obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Monday, January 8, 2024, the Intelligence Department forces conducted raids on residences in Javanroud, resulting in the arrest of at least four individuals. The detained individuals are identified as Yasin Azami, Omid Khaki, Ayub Badri, and Anoushirvan Houshangi.

Continuing the series of arrests, on Tuesday, January 9, the Intelligence Department forces apprehended Peyman Veisi.

Hengaw has been informed that the arrest of these five individuals involved storming their homes with the use of violence. Following the arrests, they were transferred to the detention center of the Kermanshah Intelligence Department.

Informed sources indicate that these individuals face charges related to cooperation and membership in Salafist groups. Despite efforts by their families to ascertain their custody status, there has been no success in obtaining information thus far.

Last Friday, Hengaw posted on its social networks, revealing that the Kermanshah Intelligence Department had notified several religious activists that they were restricted from leaving the city until further notice, indicating a potential risk of arrest.

Amid recent announcements by the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence regarding arrests related to the explosions during Qassem Soleimani’s memorial ceremony in Kerman, apprehensions arise over the possibility of these individuals being coerced into confessing under the pressure of security institutions’ torture.
