Three Kurdish Detainees During Jina Amini's Commemoration Sentenced to Prison Following

Three residents of Saqqez, namely Hiva Jahani, Hiva Tatai, and Omid Moghads, arrested by Iranian security forces on the eve of Jina Amini's commemoration, have been sentenced to prison by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
As per a report obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Hiwa Jahani, Hiwa Tatai, and Omid Moghaddis from Saqqez were recently sentenced to prison by the first branch of the Saqqez Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Javad Mostafaei. They were charged with participating in community activities and colluding against internal security.
According to the verdict, Hiva Tatai received a sentence of 3 years and 6 months imprisonment, along with a two-year ban on leaving the country. Hiva Jahani and Omid Moghaddis were each sentenced to two years in prison, including time served since their arrest.
Hengaw has learned that the initial two-year imprisonment sentences for Hiwa Jahani and Omid Moghaddis were converted to fines of 35 million tomans each.
These individuals were arrested on the eve of Jina Amini's commemoration on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, during a mass arrest in Saqqez City. They were released from Sanandaj Central Prison on bail of 900 million tomans each, pending further proceedings.
