Khosrow Alikordi, a Kurdish attorney residing in Mashhad, has been arrested and taken to Vakilabad prison to begin serving his one-year prison sentence.

According to a report obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Khosrow Alikordi, a practicing attorney, was arrested and transferred to Vakilabad prison on Saturday, February 17th, 2024, subsequent to being summoned by the Execution of Verdicts Branch of the Revolutionary and Public Prosecution Office of Mashhad.

Previously, Khosrow Alikordi was sentenced to one year of imprisonment by Branch One of the Revolutionary Court of Mashhad, along with two years of exile, a two-year travel ban, a two-year prohibition from practicing law, and a two-year ban from accessing cyberspace.

In February, this attorney was summoned to Branch 901 of the Revolutionary and Public Prosecution Office of Mashhad regarding charges from another case.

It is noteworthy that Khosrow Alikordi was initially arrested and taken to Vakilabad prison on August 1, 2023, following a summons to Branch 901 of the Revolutionary and Public Prosecution Office of Mashhad. Subsequently, on August 5, 2023, he was granted temporary release on bail pending the conclusion of legal proceedings.

Furthermore, Khosrow Alikordi was previously fined 21 million Tomans in one segment of his case for the charge of "publishing falsehoods" by Branch 3 of the Criminal Court of Mashhad.

Throughout his career, this attorney has represented numerous political prisoners and families who seek justice for their loved ones killed by the Islamic Republic of Iran.
