An artist from Urmia was sentenced to two years in prison

Hengaw: Peyman Mirzazadeh, one of the Kurdish artists from Urmia city, who was detained by security agencies on charges of singing epic hymns, sentenced to two years in prison.

During a few days ago, Revolutionary Court of Urmia city sentenced Peyman Mirzazad son of Nouraddin to two years in prison.

The verdict was imposed on Peyman on charges of cooperating with the Kurdish opposition parties.

Peyman Mirzazadeh is from the village of “Gangchin” one of the functions of the “Soomay-Bradost” in Urmia, He was arrested on February 2, on charges of singing epic hymns by the intelligence forces and he was released on March 3, with 200 million tomans bail.

This Kurd artist on December 18, 2017, also was arrested by the intelligence forces on the same charge and on December 23, 2017, from the third branch of the Revolutionary Court on charges of cooperating with the Kurdish opposition parties, singing epic hymns and praising Kurdish leaders in their hymns.

He was sentenced to six months imprisonment.
Payman Mirzazadeh was released from prison after the conviction of his six months on June 8th 2018.
