Conditional release of 7 Kurdish political prisoners from Oshnaviyeh prison

 Hengaw : Seven Kurdish political prisoners from Oshnaviyeh district of West Azerbaijan (Urmia) province , who were detained last winter to serve their sentences, have been conditionally released from the city's central prison.

 According to a report received by Hengaw Human Rights Organization, on Thursday, December 17, 2020, seven political prisoners from Oshnaviyeh named Kurush Azizi, Abu Bakr Minapak, Mohammad Amin Qazi , Moghdid Mohammadzadeh, Yousef Ahmadi, Tayeb Bamrut and Kamel Ahmadi were detained have been conditionally released from the city’s central prison after spending on-third of their three year’s imprisonment sentence .

 These seven citizens were  detained on Saturday, August 4, 2018 , by the IRGC intelligence forces in Oshnaviyeh , and after nearly two months of detention, they were released each on 200 to 500 million Toman bail ( $8000-$20000) until court hearing.

 In September 2019 , the seven citizens were each sentenced to four years in prison by the Urmia Public and Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court on charges of collaborating with the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran, a sentence that was later reduced to three years in court of appeals . 

 These seven citizens were detained  in January 2019 to serve their three-year sentences and were released with electronic anklet in the spring after the outbreak of the Corona virus pandemic .
