A woman from Abdanan, Ilam province,  was sentenced to imprisonment by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran as per the information obtained by Hengaw. Iranian armed forces have already arrested her at the Bane border.

According to a report received by Hengaw Human Rights Organization, Fatemeh Karimi, a 21-year-old, was sentenced to one-year suspended imprisonment by the First Branch of the Iranian Revolutionary Court headed by Judge Javad Mostafaei. The verdict was officially issued in the recent days.

The sentence was issued in absentia on Tuesday, October 12, 2021. She has objected to the sentence. Her charge is being a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran (KDPI).

Fatemeh Karimi, a resident of Abdanan, Ilam Province, was a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran (KDP) for a few months. She returned to Iran in April, and after leaving the party, she surrendered to the Iranian security forces across the Baneh border. She was temporarily released on bail a few days later.
