Hengaw: Kurdish citizen Fuad Enayeti was flogged with 72 lashes and must face a prison sentence.

Kurdish citizen Fuad Enayeti was flogged 72 times on July 27, 2020 in the courthouse in Sanandaj, Kordistan province.

Fuad Enayeti was arrested with several other people in January 2018 by forces from the Islamic Republic of Iran in Sanandaj during the protests against the Turkish invasion in the Kurdish city of Afrin, and was later released on bail.

In March 2019, Fuad Enayeti and seven other people were sentenced to between 10 and 12 months in prison and 72 lashes each by the Sanandaj court for “disrupting public order”. Since Fuad Enayeti had been in prison for four months after his arrest, his sentence was reduced to four months.
