Hengaw – Monday, July 28, 2025
Hemn Danesh, a young kolbar from Marivan, was shot and killed by Iran’s border guard forces. He is the seventh kolbar to be fatally shot by government forces since the ceasefire between Iran and Israel was declared.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at 5 a.m. on Monday, July 28, 2025, Danesh, a 26-year-old Kurdish kolbar from Marivan, was killed by direct gunfire from Iranian border forces.
Sources told Hengaw that Danesh was struck in the abdomen and died instantly.
The young kolbar—who was married and the father of a two-year-old daughter—was targeted without any prior warning in the “Qalqala” border area of Marivan.
His body was later transferred to Mariwan Hospital.
According to statistics recorded by the Documentation and Statistics Center of Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at least seven Kurdish kolbars have been killed by direct fire from Iranian border forces in the month following the ceasefire between Iran and Israel. This figure already surpasses the total number of kolbars killed—six—during the entire first half of the current year.
