Kurdish lawyer Ferhad Mohamadi sentenced to prison

Hengaw: The Kurdish lawyer Ferhad Mohamadi has been sentenced to prison by the Iranian judiciary.

The Revolutionary Court of Sanandaj sentenced Ferhad Mohamadi, a Kurdish lawyer and head of the Kurdistan branch of the National Unity Party (Vahdat Melli), to four years in prison.

Ferhad Mohamadi was arrested on January 2, 2019 after he was summoned by the Etlaat (Iranian Secret Service) in Sanandaj for an interrogation. He was released six months later after paying a 500 million toman bail. Ferhad Mohamadi's sentence was imposed by the judge Saidi on charges of "rebellion against the state security agencies".
