Saghar Ghodrat and Ghazal Ghodrat, two sisters arrested during the December protests in Shiraz, have each been sentenced to five years in prison by the Iranian judiciary.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Saghar Ghodrat, 25, and Ghazal Ghodrat, 29 — both residents of Shiraz — were convicted on charges of “leading protests.” They are currently being held in Adelabad Prison in Shiraz.
An informed source told Hengaw that the two women have been denied access to fundamental legal rights since their arrest, including the right to choose and consult with a lawyer.
The sisters were arrested on January 9, 2026, during protests in Shiraz and were subsequently transferred to Adelabad Prison, where they remain in detention.
