October 2024: six Kolbars killed or injured at the borders of Iran

According to data compiled by the Statistics and Documents Center of the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at least six Kolbars were killed or injured along the borders of Iran in October 2024, with 67% of these incidents resulting from direct gunfire by the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Out of the six reported incidents, three Kolbars were killed, and three others were injured.
The three Kolbars who were killed October are:
1- Tareq Nazari from Salas-e Babajani, who was shot directly by border forces
2- Hossein Kamalnia from Piranshahr, who was beaten to death by border forces
3- Siamak Hassanpour from Sardasht, who died after falling from a mountain.
The highest number of victims was recorded along the borders of West Azerbaijan (Urmia) Province, with three cases.
Causes of death or injury:
• Direct gunfire: 4 cases (1 killed and 3 injured), accounting for 67% of the total incidents.
• Beating by border forces: 1 case (1 killed), representing 16.5% of the total.
• Fall from height: 1 case (1 killed), accounting for 16.5% of the total.
Breakdown of victims by province:
• Kermanshah Province: 1 case (1 killed)
• Kurdistan (Sanandaj) Province: 2 cases (2 injured)
• West Azerbaijan (Urmia) Province: 3 cases (2 killed and 1 injured)
