11 years in prison for 3 Kurdish citizens of Urmia

Hengaw: 3 Kurdish citizens of Urmia have been sentenced to 11 years in prison for cooperating with Iran's opposition parties.

According to the report, obtained by Hengaw Organisation for Human Rights, in recent days, the Urmia Appeal Court has sentenced Reza Rasoul Pour and Hojjat Razmjoo each to one year in prison and four years suspended imprisonment.

These two Kurdish citizens were arrested in July 2016 and were released after two months on bailiffs of 500 million Toman.

Reza and Hojjat were convicted by the Revolutionary Court on charges of cooperating with one of the Iranian opposition parties to five years' imprisonment. They then appealed to this sentence.

On the other hand, the second branch of the Revolutionary Court of Urmia in the past days condemned a Kurdish citizen with the identity of Hamid Rahimi to 18 months imprisonment.

Hamid Rahimi was sentenced to imprisonment a month after being charged with cooperating with one of the Iranian opposition parties.

The 3 Kurdish citizens have been transferred to the youth section of the Central Prison of Urmia.
